Did you know that over 20% of the adult world population has ‘Chronic Procrastination’???
So why could this be?
Could it be the life we lead these days? The constant ‘pings’ on our phones, the ‘work from home’ lifestyle (so it never stops), the busy-ness of life? It is never ending, isn’t it?
Procrastination [ proh-kras-tuh–ney-shuhn ]
The act or habit of procrastinating, or putting off or delaying, especially something requiring immediate attention: She was smart, but her constant procrastination led her to be late with almost every assignment.

Does this sound familiar?
Although procrastination has links to ADHD and mental health issues, it is not always related to an underlying condition. It may also be simply caused by:
- Always finding something better to do and not actually actioning the task needing to be completed.
- Waiting for the right time, inspiration or motivation…and not ‘feeling’ it!
Do you do this? I think we all do to some level. There is nearly always something that seems more attractive and more appealing to do…. So what happens to our homes and our clutter?
Once the clutter starts to collect, it does snowball a lot easier than you’d think. Also there is such a thing called ‘Clutter Blindness’….yes it is true.
Have you ever been surrounded by your belongings and bothered by them. Then one day suddenly thinking…
Where on earth did all this come from?
How did it get like this?
How much stuff do I have?????
Apparently, after looking at something just 11 times…yes, only 11 times(!), you become ‘blind’ to it, ‘clutter blind’. It becomes the norm, you see it and carry on walking, you look and it is part of how it always looks. Have you ever heard the saying ‘part of the furniture’? Well this is what your clutter starts to become. Once it becomes part of the norm, it isn’t so much of a big deal anymore.
Hence the procrastination!
Why start when there are so many other things to do, whether they are fun days out, meeting with friends or just simply the chores of family and life…why should I declutter?
Well let me tell you…. decluttering has SO many benefits!
