Spring is the perfect time to refresh your home and embrace a more organised lifestyle. But tackling clutter can feel overwhelming if you try to do it all at once. That’s why I’ve created a 30-day decluttering challenge to help you gradually reclaim your space and build lasting habits along the way. Each day, you’ll focus on a specific area or task, making the process manageable and rewarding. By the end of the month, your home will feel lighter, more functional, and beautifully organised.
Decluttering isn’t just about tidying up – it’s about creating a home that supports your well-being and reflects your values. Over the next 30 days, you’ll take small, intentional steps toward transforming your living space. Whether you’re looking to clear out years of accumulated clutter or simply refresh your home for spring, this challenge will help you build habits that last beyond the season.
Let’s get started!

Week 1: The Foundation of Decluttering
Day 1: Set Your Goals and Make a Plan
Take a few moments to envision your ideal home. What do you want to achieve? Whether it’s a clutter-free kitchen or a serene bedroom, write down your goals. Having a clear vision will keep you motivated.
Day 2: The 5-Minute Declutter Rule
Start small by setting a timer for just five minutes and decluttering one area. You’ll be surprised by how much you can accomplish! If you feel motivated, keep going.
Day 3: Declutter One Drawer
Choose any drawer in your home and empty it. Sort through the items, keeping only what you use and love. Wipe down the inside before placing things back neatly.
Day 4: Tidy Up Your Entrance to Your Home
Your entryway is the first thing you see when you walk in. Remove unnecessary items, organise shoes, and add a designated spot for keys and mail.
Day 5: Sort Through a Section of Your Wardrobe
Go through one section in your wardrobe and remove anything that doesn’t fit, you don’t wear, or no longer suits your style. Donate or sell items in good condition.
Day 6: Declutter a Bathroom Cabinet
Sort through toiletries, makeup, and expired products. Keep what you use daily and organise the rest in labelled containers.
Day 7: Paperwork and Mail Sorting
Create a system for incoming mail and important documents. Shred old paperwork and store essential files in an organised manner.
Week 2: Kitchen & Daily Living Spaces
Day 8: Tackle the Fridge and Pantry
Check expiration dates, wipe down shelves, and arrange items in an orderly way. Use storage containers to keep things categorised.
Day 9: Organise Kitchen Cabinets
Sort through dishes, cookware, and gadgets. Donate duplicates and get rid of anything you no longer use.
Day 10: Clear Out the Junk Drawer
Every home has one! Take everything out, sort through it, and only keep what’s necessary. Categorise each item and find small containers to hold them. These can be purchased from places like B&M/Home Bargains but you can also use boxes from gift sets and mobile phone packages too.
Day 11: Declutter the Living Room
Remove unused decor, tidy up bookshelves, and eliminate excess clutter from surfaces.
Day 12: Digital Declutter – Emails & Apps
Unsubscribe from unnecessary emails, delete unused apps, and organise your digital files.
Day 13: Reassess Your Book Collection
Keep books you love and donate the rest. Consider a designated bookshelf to keep things tidy.
Day 14: Refresh Your Linen Closet
Sort through towels, sheets, and blankets. Donate or repurpose worn-out linens.
Week 3: Bedrooms & Personal Spaces
Day 15: Declutter Your Bedside Table
Clear off unnecessary items, keep only essentials, and organise the inside drawers.
Day 16: Organise Under the Bed
Remove anything stored under the bed and decide what to keep, donate, or store in proper containers.
Day 17: Tidy Up Your Kids’ Toys & Games
Sort through toys, donate what’s no longer used, and implement storage solutions.
Day 18: Jewellery & Accessories
Sort through jewellery, scarves, and handbags. Keep what you love and organise them neatly.
Day 19: Declutter Your Home Office or Desk
Remove unnecessary items, sort through stationery, and organise files.
Day 20: Organise Your Makeup & Beauty Products
Sort through expired or unused products and create an organised setup for everyday use.
Day 21: Declutter Your Shoe Collection
Donate unworn shoes and organise the ones you keep in a neat system.
Week 4: The Final Touches
Day 22: Garage or Storage Space Declutter
Tackle storage spaces by sorting through boxes and getting rid of unnecessary items.
Day 23: Tidy Up Your Car
Clear out clutter, wipe down surfaces, and organise essentials in your car.
Day 24: Organise Cleaning Supplies
Check cleaning products for duplicates or empty bottles and organise them in a designated spot.
Day 25: Digital Declutter – Photos & Files
Sort through photos, back up important ones, and delete duplicates or blurry shots.
Day 26: Streamline Your Hobbies & Craft Supplies
Focus on 1 category of your craft space only and keep what you use and donate excess materials.
Day 27: Review & Adjust Your Organisation Systems
Take time to reassess and tweak any areas that still feel cluttered.
Day 28: Create a Donation or Selling Plan
Arrange for donations to be picked up or list items for sale.
Day 29: Add Finishing Touches to Your Home
Think about what would brighten up your home and add cozy touches like fresh flowers, candles, pictures, cushions for example to make your space feel inviting.
Day 30: Celebrate & Reward Yourself!
You did it! Well Done!! Take a moment to appreciate your efforts and make sure to reward yourself for all your hard work. Creating a reward will leave a positive imprint to motivate you next time. So treat yourself to a bubble bath, a walk outside or lunch with some friends.
By following this 30-day decluttering challenge, you’ll not only achieve a beautifully organised home but also develop habits that will keep it that way. Small, consistent actions lead to long-term success. Remember, decluttering is an ongoing journey, not a one-time event. Keep up with the habits you’ve built, and your home will continue to be a place of comfort and clarity. Ready to get started? Let’s spring into an organised home together!
